Board of Advisors

Donald Boudreaux, Ph.D

Don is an economics professor at George Mason University and senior fellow with the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the Mercatus Center.

Currently on the Board of Directors at the Mercatus Center, Don is also the former economics department chair at the university, served as president of the Foundation for Economic Education and as professor of legal studies and economics at Clemson University.  Known for accessible writing on economics and politics, Don co-authors the blog Cafe Hayek, is a columnist for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and won the 2nd Annual Coolidge Prize for Journalism in 2014.

Don has a PhD in economics from Auburn University and a JD from the University of Virginia.

Eli Clarke

Eli is director of college counseling at Gonzaga College High School in Washington DC, overseeing all stages of the college application process and advising families on financial aid and scholarships.

Previously, Eli served as associate director of admissions at Loyola University New Orleans. Eli directed recruiting efforts in western and southern states and led bridge programs for high school students.  He has trained high school admissions counselors and has served on college counseling advisory boards at Rice University and Georgia Tech. Currently, Eli serves on Miami University’s advisory board.

Eli has a BA from Loyola University in New Orleans in communications and English literature, and an MSW from Catholic University.

Lisa Coen

Lisa was most recently vice president and head of global public and government affairs for Bayer CropScience division, leading outreach to educate on global food security. Before joining Bayer, Lisa led North America government affairs and policy at Novartis Vaccines and was vice president of public affairs at Pfizer, educating on healthcare innovation for patients globally.

Lisa’s public service focused on global trade, health, and related education initiatives while working for the Under Secretary of Economic, Business, and Agricultural Affairs at the U.S. State Department, as deputy assistant U.S. Trade Representative, and as director at the White House National Security Council. Prior to that, Lisa worked at two major law firms.

Lisa graduated from Providence College and George Washington University Law School, and is pursuing a master’s degree at Georgetown University.

Derek Colla

Derek is an associate at Cooley, LLP in the Washington DC emerging companies practice group.

Since joining Cooley in 2008, Derek has helped to form, finance and advise high growth internet, digital media, consumer product, clean technology, software and medical device companies on mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and follow-on public offerings.  In the past three years, he has counseled companies and investors in more than 100 venture capital financings, with an aggregate value of over $500 million.

Derek has a BS in computer science from Washington and Lee University and a JD from Harvard Law School.

Andrew Harper

Andrew is the CEO and co-founder of Gaeltek, LLC, a managed services provider based in the Washington DC area with clients throughout the US and Canada.

Andrew launched Gaeltek in 2004.  He brings extensive operationally focused technical knowledge to overseeing Gaeltek’s account management and operations.  In addition to being named to the SMB 150 and CRN’s Next Gen 250 for adapting to new technologies, Gaeltek has been recognized as one of the 40 Most Innovative MSP’s in the US.  Andrew also serves on the DC area ITT Tech program advisory committee and the CompTIA managed services executive council.  Prior to Gaeltek, Andrew was IT manager at the British Council in Washington DC.

A Glasgow, Scotland native, Andrew attended the Royal Naval Engineering College and served as Lt. Commander in the Royal Navy Submarine Service for 17 years.

David Jallits

Dave is a member of the board of trustees for the College of William & Mary Foundation and former Managing Director and Head of Global Investment Research at Cambridge Associates, an institutional investment advisor to foundations, endowments and corporate and government entities.

Before heading up global investment research, Dave served as Cambridge Associates’ head of investment advisory practice in their Arlington, VA office. Dave has also served as director and senior portfolio manager at The Capital Fund, and portfolio manager at Teton Partners, with expertise in investments in currencies, credit and commodity markets.  In 2014, Dave was named Hedge Fund Consultant of the Year by Institutional Investor Magazine.

Dave has a BS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Finance with a concentration in Economics.
